Must share some photos of my little equestrienne!

The kidlet received a face painting kit from Santa and decided to take it for a spin today. She wanted to follow the instructions all by herself. Can you handle the cuteness?

And she was worried that she didn’t do the tongue correctly! Who cares?!

Such yumminess!
Martha Stewart I am not. My house spends most of its time looking like a clothing and toy explosion took place recently. But that didn’t stop me from wanting to get a little crafty with the kidlet over the holidays.
The first thing that caught my eye was her suggestion for garland made from old holiday cards. As a major packrat who will not throw out old cards, I saw this as a true opportunity. So we dashed to Michaels to buy some craft punches and stickers. (I quickly learned that you should NOT use craft punches on cards with ribbon.)

I made this one for the family room staircase and Z made the one for the front hall staircase. Other than our working to keep the cats away from tearing it all down, we were quite pleased with how it turned out.
The next cool thing was a tabletop Christmas tree decorated only with bows. While I easily found the small tree, finding a small tree stand proved to be the challenging part! Thank you Rhodes Gardens for coming to my rescue.
We tied the ribbon around floral wire and made many little small bows that we attached to the tree. We made smaller bows than Martha did. Here’s how it turned out:

We are still getting to the snow globes. I’ll keep you posted on how those turn out!
Today was a lovely do-nothing day. With work closed and the kidlet here with me, I thought it would be great to take in the latest episode of Murray the Elf playing at the Act II theater in Ambler. Imagine my surprise to see that the play had been completely sold out. Who would have thought it?
So the munchkin then suggests that we go ride the North Pole Express (otherwise known and the New Hope-Ivyland Railroad). We stopped home to grab my camera and off we went.

Neither of us realized how much drama would ensue from her carrying around her “buddy elf” Snowflake. Most people didn’t realize that there were two types of elves on the shelves. The original type that reports to Santa cannot be touched by children but the companion buddy elves can be touched.

7 1/2 years old and still as cute as a button.

Finally convinced her to put the elf down!
Do not know what this was all about:

My client told me that what she really, really wanted from her shoot was a photo of her two boys together…in one photo. To date, this had not been achieved.
I thought to myself, I’m a pediatrician. I know kids. I can do this. And with that, I approached this shoot.
These two little angels would definitely not give me any difficulty. The older boy was a great helper. He made sure my cart was nearby at all times.
But it was the younger boy who decided that the word “no” was going to be the word of the morning. Look at this angelic face:

Lo and behold, a rocking horse nets us the first brothers together photo. I’m doing well.

Now on the stairs, some youngster who will remain nameless, wanted to go off and run on the ramp, so we had a little grumbling. (Just a teensy bit!)

But after taking out my bribery reward lollipops, we did very well.

Now that’s what I’m talking about!

I had to make sure that my best helper also received his time in the spotlight. Such a cutie!

And after all that hard work, a lollipop was a well-earned treat.
